How the SEAI Solar PV Grant works in 2026
The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) pays a grant of up to €1,800 toward domestic solar panel installations. The amount is tiered:
- €700 per kWp for the first 2 kWp
- €200 per kWp for the next 2 kWp
- Maximum grant of €1,800 (4 kWp+)
To qualify, your home must:
- Have been built and connected to the grid before 1 January 2021
- Be owned by you (or you must have homeowner permission)
- Have an MPRN (the number on your ESB bill)
- Not have previously received an SEAI Solar PV grant
Grant approval must be in place before installation begins. The installer you're matched with handles the paperwork for you.
